Once your Onkyo receiver is connected to the Sonos Connect you will be able to send any music or source on your Sonos app to the receiver. You will be able to group your receiver to other Sonos devices on the network or use it independently. Whenever you start playing music back from your Sonos app and the Onkyo receiver is selected the receiver will automatically turn on and/or switch to the correct input.
Your Onkyo receiver can be used with the Sonos One, Play:1, Play:3 or Play:5 or any combination of these speakers. You can even use your Onkyo receiver with a Playbar or Playbase that is located in a different room. Just remember that you need to have a Sonos Connect to connect your Onkyo receiver to your Sonos home sound system.

No, you can plug the Sonos Connect into an unused input on the rear panel of your Onkyo receiver using the RCA audio cable supplied with your Sonos Connect. Any input can be used other than the PHONO input. We recommend using the CD input. You can even rename the input that is displayed on your Onkyo receiver to a more logical name. For example, you can change the name of input that the Sonos Connect is plugged into from “CD” (or other input) to “SONOS”. Please refer to the user’s manual supplied with your receiver for details.
Most network capable receivers (multi-channel and stereo) and multi-channel processors introduced in 2018 are compatible. Compatible models will be identified on the box and/or description as “Works with Sonos”.
