Powerhouse TX-RZ920 Receiver

Equipped for 5.2.4-channel DTS:X® and Dolby Atmos® reproduction, this heavyweight 135 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 1 kHz, 0.08%, 2-channels driven, FTC) receiver includes 11.2-multi-channel pre-outs and processing for 7.2.4-channel playback with an additional stereo power amp. Two 12 V triggers, IR in/out, RS-232 and IP control over LAN simplify 11-channel theater setup. Immense dynamic power and agile transient performance manifest with Dynamic Audio Amplification upgraded to exceed punishing THX standards for reference-level playback.

Modular analog and digital circuit blocks, custom-fabricated transformer, massive factory-tuned block capacitors, and discrete output stage cooled by an extruded aluminum heat-sink provide instantaneous power and frequency reproduction to 5 Hz, assuring full-scale presentation of complex musical passages. Bass is felt as well as heard, even without subwoofers. Non-phase-shift amplifiers assemble a clear image with minimal distortion. In Addition to native object-based audio support, the TX-RZ920 equips Dolby Surround™ and DTS Neural:X™ upmixing features for standard multi-channel soundtracks and provides immersive 3D playback with a speaker system including height-channels. AccuReflex technology—part of AccuEQ room-acoustic correction technology—aligns height-channels’ phase of directional and non-directional sounds for a cohesive and comfortable sound-field when using Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.

HDCP 2.2*2-compliant HDMI® terminals pass video supporting Dolby Vision™, HDR10, HLG (Hybrid-Log Gamma), and wide-color-gamut BT.2020 through to compatible displays and projectors. All eight HDMI inputs and two outputs are 4K/60p-ready and join component and composite video inputs, digital audio inputs, line-level inputs, an MM phono stage, and USB audio to make the TX-RZ920 a hub for emergent and legacy sources.

The TX-RZ920 gathers a variety of technologies to simplify music streaming, multi-room audio distribution, and voice control capabilities for stress-free enjoyment of music. The receiver supports DTS Play-Fi®*3 technology, so users can stream high-quality music from connected online services, networked media servers, and mobile device library over Wi-Fi® to any number of compatible products using Onkyo Music Control App for iOS and Android™ phones/tablets. DTS Play-Fi automatically synchronizes the music in every room or groups of rooms in home. Chromecast built-in lets the family stream any music from Chromecast-enabled apps for Android devices, iPhone, iPad, or Chromebook™, Mac®, Windows® laptop, and direct to the TX-RZ920 and other supported speakers individually or simultaneously as part of a multi-room ecosystem. The TX-RZ920 works with the Google Assistant featured on Google Assistant built-in speakers, such as the Onkyo Smart Speaker G3 (VC-GX30) or Google Home, and plays music, podcasts, and internet radio on voice command—just say “Ok Google” and request desired content.

FireConnect™*4 powered by Blackfire streams network music as well as analog audio to supported speakers. Playback is controlled in individual and grouped zones with Onkyo Controller*5. The TX-RZ920 also incorporates AirPlay® wireless audio streaming and Bluetooth® wireless technology.

Multiple top-quality DACs from AKM assure accurate, fluent sound, with a dedicated stereo DAC supporting 384 kHz/32-bit conversion for Front L/R channels. Further, VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) on all channels cleans high-frequency pulse-noise before amplification for a natural high-resolution experience. Hi-Res Audio*6 formats including Direct DSD 11.2 MHz, FLAC, ALAC, and WAV to a maximum 192 kHz/24-bit resolution are ready to play via LAN and USB.

Spotify®, TIDAL, TuneIn, Pandora®, and DEEZER offer a wide selection of entertainment selectable from smartphone and tablet apps*7, and Music on mobile devices s, music server, and PC is also easily accessed, with 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi providing a fast and stable connection.
