Holographic soundstage. Immense power. Ultimate control. Expect it from the reference-level THX® Certified Select™ TX-RZ920, a 9.2-channel A/V receiver that’s crafted from top to bottom for complete audio-visual immersion. With custom high-current amplification and state-of-the-art processing that preserves signal integrity from the source, this receiver unlocks superior sound reproduction in your media room and beyond.
Our flagship RZ Series A/V receivers deliver a significant boost to the dynamism, detail, and accuracy of music and movie soundtracks for a listening experience that packs deep emotional impact. The TX-RZ920 features top-quality components and a massive custom transformer to provide high instantaneous current for fast transients and wideband frequency response down to 5 Hz. Discrete nonphase- shift amp circuits clearly focus the audio image and cut distortion even at floor-shaking volumes.
To supply the current needed to respond instantly to dynamic changes in the signal, Onkyo employs a fully customized massive transformer and huge audio-grade capacitors. Even at high volume, the TX-RZ920 never feels strained or unbalanced by complex musical passages or dynamic movie soundtracks.
THX Certified Select guarantees the same high-volume sound
you experience at a commercial theater in your home. To gain
certification, amplifiers must pass severe bench-tests covering every
aspect of audio performance. THX Certified Select components are
ideally suited to rooms where the screen-to-seat viewing distance is
about 10 feet and the room volume approximately 2,000 cubic feet.
Stream any music from your smartphone, laptop, or PC to the TX-RZ920 with ease. Control playback with Chromecast enabled apps you know and love from your iPhone, iPad, Android™ phone or tablet, Mac® or Windows® laptop, or Chromebook™.
SET-UP CHROMECAST BUILT-IN
Object-based soundtracks allow independently mixed sound to play
through any speaker in your system, moving above and around you
with breathtaking realism. The TX-RZ920 reproduces 5.2.4-channel
Dolby Atmos or DTS:X formats,
with AccuReflex correcting the
phase of direct and indirect sounds
for cohesive audio imaging with
Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.

DOLBY ATMOS DTS:X
DTS Neural:X™ identifies spatial effects in multichannel soundtracks and upmixes for 3D playback through object-audio-ready speaker systems. Dolby Surround also upmixes legacy sound formats so you can experience multidimensional playback of legacy sound formats in a Dolby Atmos environment.
The DTS Play-Fi app for iPad,
iPhone, Android, Kindle Fire, and
Windows PC lets you stream from
online services, media server, or
device library over Wi-Fi® to any
number of compatible speakers.
DTS Play-Fi connects systems for
synchronized music in every room, and can stream different music

Five rear HDMI® inputs (HDMI 1-5), Main Out, and Sub/Zone 2 Out support pass-through of HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), and Dolby Vision; the BT.2020 4K color standard; 4K/60 Hz video playback; and HDCP 2.2 for premium video content. Front HDMI terminal is ideal for temporary device connections.
Dual-band 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi assures a stable connection so you can stream over AirPlay and the local network. Bluetooth wireless technology provides quick and simple streaming from your choice of app and device.
FlareConnect™ mirrors network audio and external analog sources connected to a master component, from streaming services to vinyl records, on FlareConnect™-compatible speakers in other rooms. Music selection, speaker grouping, and playback management across the home are built into Onkyo Controller app for iOS and Android™.
YOUR Home. YOUR Music. NO Limits
Note: FlareConnect™ is enabled with a firmware update. Multi-room audio enabled by this technology requires an optional Onkyo wireless speaker. Onkyo cannot guarantee the compatibility of its A/V receivers with other devices featuring FlareConnect™. Sharing audio from external inputs depends on the model and is enabled via firmware update. Sampling rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz are supported. Please consult the Onkyo website for further announcements regarding these technologies.
With 11.2-channel pre-outs, 12 V triggers, IR input, and optional rack-mount kit, the TX-RZ920 integrates with other components (such as outboard amps) to create a full wired multi-room setup thanks to Powered Zone 2/3 and Zone 2/3 Pre-/Line Outputs governed by Whole Home Audio or a home automation system.
Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry is a mouthful, so we call it VLSC™. This circuitry virtually removes digital pulse noise for a smooth analog signal. RZ820 focuses VLSC on the front left and right channels.
Data is converted between sampling points and these points are joined with analog vectors in real time to produce a smooth output wave form. The result is a virtually noiseless, smooth, analog signal based on the digital source. It brings out even the most subtle of nuances in audio sources.
The Onkyo RZ Series was designed for home theater integration and performance above and beyond your expectations. From multi-zone audio and video options to dedicated RZ Series phone support and a three-year product warranty, the Onkyo RZ Series delivers superior audio performance in the configurations you want with the support you should expect from the leader in home audio.
