I bought the HT-S780 from shoponkyo.com refurbished. I took advantage of their spring sale, and used my clubonkyo points in the purchase, and ended up paying just 300 dollars for the entire system plus shipping. I received it not long ago, and I am already astounded by the quality of sound the system produces. The clarity is phenomenal, and the range and power of the system is great as well. I shopped around a lot and realized that I just couldn't pass up the chance to get a 7.1 HTS from such a reputable company. I grew up around music my whole life, and I definitely consider myself a good judge of sonic quality. I love what I have heard so far, and look forward to the expandability and utility of this system. I was thrown slightly though, at the size of the system. I was expecting something smaller, but hey, I'll take more for my money any day. I definitely suggest this system for anyone with some room to put all of the speakers who wants to rock their house.

This is my 3rd Onkyo purchase of a audio system. Every Onkyo purchase has exceeded my expectations. The HT-S780 is a refurbished unit with “minor cosmetic damage”. I could not see any cosmetic issues at all! The unit came with everything except two AA batteries. What great sound – 110 watts per channel! I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great home theater system. The sub-woofer is awesome! I ordered the unit on Sunday night and I received it Tuesday at noon – shipping was free!Thank you Onkyo for a great home theater system!

Big and Beefy system!

This is the third surround sound system that I've owned. First was a sharp, then Philips, now the Onkyo HT-S780. So far this system is the best. I ordered this as a refurb from shoponkyo.com but it looks and functions as brand new. Not a single scratch was found anywhere on it! Be warned, this is a BIG and beefy system (I'm talking about the speakers/sub). The sub and speakers may not look/fit right in a smaller room. Plus the receiver does run a little warm so I wouldn't suggest using it in a small enclosed rack. Overall its a great value and I recommend it!

Excellent sound; problem with amp protection mode

We have really enjoyed this system from December to March; however, this month the amp protection mode kicked on and we have to send it off from FL to NY to get it fixed. I'm not happy that our $500 system only lasted 3 months!! What a headache! Anyways, we hope it can be fixed fast so we can enjoy it again without it cutting off on us everytime we turn it on. There should definitely be a reset button to fix this problem. It is obviously a frequent problem since it is listed on the website and in the trouble shooting section of the manual.

I researched many brands/models for months before deciding on the HT-S780. This has the features and performance of units that cost much more. Absolutly no disapointments. I used 16 ga. wire from the hardware store for the speakers. No need to spend the big bucks on speaker wire, just quality wire to replace the thin stuff that was supplied. Best sound system for under a grand.

Purchased my onkyo HT-S780 last weekend at CircuitCity. I have to say so far the performance has exceeded my expectatations. The first DVD movie I watched was Star Wars 3:Revenge of the Sith. The sound was simply amazing. My wife ask me to turn it down because it was shaking the house. The system has plenty of power to fill a fairly large basement rec area, 15'x36'. Another thing I like about this system is how configurable it is. You can adjust the volume level of each speaker to suite your personal preference. I haven't upgraded my speaker wires yet, but I can't imagine it performing much better. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a home theatre solution that won't break the bank.

Great Sound and am very pleased. Couple things I wish Onkyo would change is put system in two boxes, instead of a 103 lb. single box and use a size larger speaker wire. The whole unit is great, receiver and speakers work together to make a fine team. I would buy this unit again and could without reservation recommend it to my friends.

The system is awesome. I have tried turning it to the max and it still sound great. This is my first home theatre system and for the price your paid $439 US is definitely worth the money. I agree this receiver does get hotter than other receivers from the other brands. I make sure there is alot of ventilation to keep it cool as stated in the manual. One thing I was not happy about was when I connected a 2nd VCR, I could not find the proper code to activate/ se the onkyo remote only. I am wondering when we Onkyo make a 6 disk DVD/CD/MP3/JPG/DIVX with hdmi player in the future. I definitely would buy that.

Movies sound amazing and the aomunt of options for inputs is very pleasing. The quality in the speakers is very nice. Ok here's what I thinkThe Good; Excellent sound quality for a HTIB. The speakers are not as small as others, but sound rich and full toned. I bought a refurbished and still have not found any damages cosmetic or otherwise. The Bad; Way to heavy to pack it all in one box! The Fed Ex guy looked real mad. Onkyo should break it up into two boxes. Also it does get real hot i am thinking about adding a fan to the unit. The Ugly; The speakers. Just not as minimal as others. All in all this is a outstanding value! A lot of sound for a very fair price. I am very pleased with my purchase, My only real complaint was on the length of time it took to arrive from the purchase date but as I listen to the system more and more I am starting to forget that part of the deal! As others have said buy heavy wire for the speakers the supplied wires are a joke. The bottom line.... I am happy and would buy Onkyo products again for certain!

I bought this from ShopOnkyo.com as a refurb unit. The label said minor cosmetic flaws. I have yet to see anything wrong with it. I could not find any cosmetic damage to the receiver or the speakers.Hooking it up was a snap. Everything is labeled well and the instruction manual covers everything you need to know. The only thing I did not like was the supplied speaker wires. Too thin. I bought 16 gauge speaker wire to use with this system. There is a difference in using thicker speaker wires. So far I am impressed with the sound. DVDs, Games, TV all sound great after tweaking the levels and playing with the speaker distance setup. Thanks Onkyo!

No better value on the market today...PERIOD
Reviewer: David

Having been in the audio field for over 3 decades, and having worked at Altec-Lansing for a number of years before they closed their amp lines here, I have seen first hand, design and quality products inside and out. Onkyo has certainly been an industry leader for a number of decades and has certainly hit a home run with this product. From it's discreet final output stages to it's power supply section, you simply do not find this "old school" mentality to building audio products, which by the way is a shame in todays lineups. You cannot find a product out there on the market selling for even as much as 3 times the HT-S780's price that comes close to the bang for the buck you get for less than $500.00. It is well balanced with adequate punch to produce over 110db in my theater room, which is quite impressive to say the least. Invest a small amount of pocket change in using banana jacks for your speaker cables as you attach them to the rear of this amp and you will make it ever so easy to manage your speaker leads. My personal suggestion is to use 14 guage or larger fine stranded speakers connects for the fronts and center, and 18 guage or better for the rears to provide the finest amplifier damping factor ratios as possible. (Amplifier damping is the ability not to drive a speakers cone outward, but to provide damping to stop the cones and to handle the residual voltage of the cones movement over the magnet, which itself produces voltage) Onkyo, you have me as a customer, and after 8 months of owning this product, I give you a 10.

This thing is AWESOME! You're not going to find anything this good for this price. It may not be the most stylish home theater, but sound quality matters more to me. I compared it to $1000+ systems, and those didn't come close. Between this and the DV-CP702 DVD player, I have become a complete Onkyo convert. I don't know how they can sell this high of quality at this low of a price. I'm just glad they do!

Good bang for the buck
Reviewer: Chris

The Good: This system rattles the entire house, down to the basement- now that's power! There are ample connections for whatever your heart desires- multiple optical, s video, component, etc. I am also able to control my Onkyo DV-CP702 with the main remote which is a definite plus that reduces clutter. The Bad: This system is less than a month old and I will be taking it into the repair shop due to a buzzing noise on the rear channels- and it isn't the speakers, wire or even outside electrical interference because I tested for all of it. The system also runs hot given the ultra thin 20 AWG wire, way too thin to pump out the power this system pushes. Spend the extra $50-$100 for a minimum 16 AWG for moderately sized rooms. Lastly, surround sound speakers are a little on the large and bulky side, but the sound they produce make up for that! Overall; a great improvement over my previous Samsung system that was just too underpowered and couldn't hit the high notes as clearly and crisply as this Onkyo system. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this buzzing sound will easily be repaired. All in all, for the $430 plus tax I paid I am more than satisfied.

HT-S780, a great value
Reviewer: Gary G.
from Cincinnati, OH
02/13/06
I was very leery about buying a HTIB, but decided to go ahead and try this system out based on the reviews online as well as reviews found in Consumer Reports magazine. I was set to buy a Yamaha receiver and some expensive speakers when I decided to investigate HTIBs. After a bit of research, I found glowing reports about the S780. Although I really wanted to buy the HT-S870 (THX version), I had trouble locating it anywhere, so I decided to just get the 780. It is GREAT!!! Installation was a snap with color coded wires, speakers and speaker connections. I do agree that the supplied speaker wire is really weak and needs to be replaced. I'm also surprised that Onkyo hasn't changed the jacks on the back of at least the front speakers to something a bit more robust. Although when you look at the price point it is difficult to imagine there is much of a margin here for Onkyo. The only other complaint I have is that one of the covers for the Optical inputs has fallen off. I've only had the system for about 2 weeks and finally got all of the wiring set-up. Unfortunately, without the cover for the optical port, an optical audio cable doesn't positively lock into the channel. Other than that I would recommend this system to just about anyone looking for a decent Home Theatre set-up without spending a bundle. For the cost, if you don't like it you can put it in a den or your bedroom.

Plenty of options for hookups for now and in the future. (double check for your particular system as there always might be something you need more of). Good manual. I've been in the market for a while now for a good HT package. After checking several review sites and the Consumer Reports site (which they rank this system at #1) I decided to spring for it. What an amazing difference over my previous system. I watched a sci-fi movie last night and for the first time finally understand what the benefit to a 7.1 system over a 5.1 system is. Granted I am no audiophile, but this system does exactly what it is supposed to, and much much more. Thank you Onkyo for bringing this quality of a system down to a price range the masses can afford. This home theater system is my first experience with Onkyo, and I am very impressed with the quality and performance. The HT-S780 is wired to a DVD player and a DirecTV DVR. Just add optical digital audio cables and proper source material for true Dolby Digital from both units. Multiple modes take advantage of all seven speakers plus subwoofer. Whether regular TV, movies, or video games, the sound is excellent. Installed in a large room, the volume level is more than sufficient. Useful manual, especially for fine tuning the system (such as speaker distances and relative speaker volume -- worth the effort for best surround sound). Completely satisfied.

I researched a lot before I bought this. I was actually planning on buying the Bose receiver. Let’s face it -- Bose is good for just 2 channel sounds. This Onkyo receiver is far superior if you dig multichannel sound, especially DVDs and SACDs. It is simply awesome. The channels are distinct. The DSP is pretty good (excellent for Dolby Digital, Prologic, ES, Neo). Overall, here are some pros and cons.PROS: * Amazing sound and clarity. Very powerful (110 w per channel). * Bass is just right -- given that Subwoofer is 250 watts, it just doesn't blare. It is a bottom firing subwoofer. * Perfect surround. * Equalizer rocks - And, there is a night mode, CinemaFilter and an OptiResponse equalizer. They are all good. Note: you also have complete control over the bass and treble. * Remote looks awkward, but it actually works right. * I can even control my iPOD using my remote (thanks to the RI interface). Buy the iPod dock (DSA1) and you are good to go. CONS: * Clumsy wiring at the rear of the receiver (inspite of color coding, etc) -- especially when you do the initial wiring. * The back and side surround speakers follow the traditional design. But sounds good though. Front and center speakers have a newer design. * FM reception is just okay. May be it is just the antenna. * Wish there were more digital coax audio inputs. There is just one Coax. But there are three optical... so better if your devices support optical cables. In short, this system is really worth the money. Eventually, I might upgrade my speakers to something even nicer (say Polk, Bose). But the receiver is just top notch.

It wasn't only the great reviews I've seen about the 780 that got me interested in it, (it was rated #1 best buy by the #1 consumer rating service) and not only the sound that was delivered at the store where I purchased it. I was at Circuit City in my town browsing. I knew I wanted a new home surround system but wasn't sold on any of them. That was until I turned the Onkyo HT-S780 on. Priced below $499.00 It blew the Panasonic, Pioneer, Kenwood and JVC I listened to out of the water. But then I looked in the back of it and was amazed at all the various inputs and outputs available. I was sold. This is one incredible machine, but don't take my word for it, go check one out yourself. These guys did their research when they designed this system.

I'm switching to Onkyo!
Reviewer: Joe
from Sacramento California
01/13/06
I've search the web for almost a month trying to find a reasonable receiver to hook my pair of Bose 901 speakers. I'm a Sony guy but after talking to a salesman at Circuit City he introduced me to the Onkyo 503 receiver (75 watts receiver only) for under $300.00. At first he pointed out the pros & cons of the other different brand receivers but I wanted to stay with a Bose system. After trying to add everything I needed for a complete system it eventually was going to cost me over $1000.00. So I went back to the store to compare the 503 vs. Onkyo’s top of the line receiver and there was a slight difference. After listening to several brands, he then introduced me to the Onkyo HT-S780 which is exactly like the Onkyo 503 but turbo charged with a 100 watts per channel and what a big difference. So my wife convinced me to buy one with a $100.00 rebate for that week only. I finally hooked everything up according to the instruction that evening but it just wouldn't work. So i went back to CC once again and talked to someone who knows how to connect different components together. At first he mentioned that since my DVD player and TV #s were not on the list that the remote might not work. I realized that all you really need to connect was one S-Video cable from each component to the receiver and the white and red audio cables. Connect the coaxial from DVD to receiver and another S-Video from the receiver to TV and whalla it works. Forget about the yellow! I followed the remote control instructions for the TV, DVD player, Dish Cable and Receiver and everything work perfectly. I hooked up my Bose 901's to the front and we all watched Polar Express that evening with our neighbor's kids and everyone was surprised when the whole house started to shake. It sounded like we were all in the theatre. Yes, the receiver does produce a lot of heat so I pulled the rear wood cover off and enlarged the rear hole of the cabinet. For $399.00 you cannot beat that price anywhere! Great work Onkyo!

I just got my Onkyo HT-S780 on the 6th of January and it’s awesome. The sound quality is unbeatable for the price. You need to do a little tweaking of the settings to get the best sound, but it didn't take too long. I would definitely buy more products from Onkyo. Best surround sound system, even better than the Bose we have (no joke) however, the speakers are a bit bulky compared the those of Bose. I researched surround sound packages for about 2 weeks and it came to this. I also based my purchase off of other customer reviews of this system, which all were positive except for maybe 2 that I found. When I got the system, it blew away my expectations. I recommend the movie S.W.A.T, for this movie really uses surround sound with all of the bullets flying by you. Oh,.and listen to Eric Clapton Unplugged cranked up and you will be in awe. This is my first system, and from the moment I opened the very large box that was here very quickly....I was impressed. I like the tone quality and will probably not find the need to use heavier speaker wire as I don't intend to shake the house down. With that said...watching some DVD's we have had for awhile took on a whole new experience! One thing I did not catch the first time and caused me to re-read the instructions...although all kinds of audio can be processed and sent to the speakers....only like-kind video can make it to the TV. My newer DVD player had component connections and S-Video. My TV has S-Video and the regular dreaded yellow plug RCA connector (and antenna co-ax). Thinking the component connection would be even better....I used that to enter the DVD into the system. Audio via digital was spectacular....but no image. As soon as I tossed the $ component cable and used a S-Video....we were watching DVD's! Of course...the VHS has RCA plugs only....so looks like the video portion will need to bypass the system and plug directly into the TV for now....until I get an S-Video capable VHS! Oh yes....just about to purchase another Onkyo component!

This is my second Home Theater System. I decided to upgrade to a high end system as my needs/components were outgrown by my old system. I looked at Bose and all others but came across during my research this Onkyo. I had no previous familiarity with Onkyo so had read a ton of reviews. Everything said about this system was what I thought was too good to be true. I decided after reading so much I had to see if it was true. I got it home and had it set up in no time flat without even tweaking yet or reading the manual I was literally blown away by the sound. All the hookups were intuitive and easy with plenty of them. Simply put - just an outstanding system for sure. I am very pleased and can't wait to tweak it so it will only get better.

I wanted to upgrade my home theater system without overpaying. I bought the 780 from shoponkyo after much research. I also ordered a pair of athena fronts and a center after reading a review that said the fronts included in this package were muddy.I hooked up the Onkyo set with the Athena fronts and center and was blown away. Then decided to see if the Onkyo fronts and center were as bad as that "audiophile" review had said. To my surprise, they sounded better than the athenas! I couldn't believe my ears. I had to connect both to the receiver to hear the difference. The receiver does the job, and the speakers are better than a $1000 system. I put the system through its rounds with everything from crappy Hollywood blockbusters to jazz, hip-hop, Pink Floyd and classical are amazing. This is a true audio lovers' dream. As a testament to how good the 780 is, I'd like to add that this is the first product I've ever bothered to sit down and write a review for. Its just that awesome. Don't waste your money on a four-digit system; this will do the job just as well, if not better!

I was a bit worried about the size of speakers but once I heard the sound there was no doubt I selected the correct system. My theater room does not have the physical space for 7.1 but this unit set up easy without the additional two speakers. I had deciced to buy this unit before finding it on the shoponkyo website. Am i so happy i found it. The price was amazing and the soud quality even better. Thanks for a great product!

I ordered this as our Christmas present, and because I have always heard great things about Onkyo products. This is a great starter system for someone who would like to get their feet wet with a home theater system and don't want to worry about finding speakers to match. This HTIB comes with the receiver, and the speakers. All you do is hook them up and enjoy the sound. I have some optical cables ordered to make my system even better sounding, instead of using just the left/right audio connectors that I currently had. What also made this product even better was the price. We got a great deal on this, since it was a refurbished product. I did plug in the system, and all was working well. There was some cosmetic damage on it, actually on one of the speakers, but I knew there would be some when I purchased the unit. Luckily I can upgrade the speakers at a later date as the need arises.

Since I already had a DVD player, I didn't want to buy a Home Theater package with DVD and waste my exisitng unit. At the same time I wanted a good system for a great price. I was weighing on Denon, Yamaha and Onkyo systems and finally... ONKYO is the winner!!! System setup was as easy as 1.2.3 and I used optical connection for best audio results. So far the system performace is simply amazing though I haven't explored all the features yet. I'm fully satisfied with the system and would highly recommend to other buyers. My hats off to ONKYO. I purchased this system from Circuit City on their day after Thanksgiving Sale. When I compared the sound quality of the Onkyo to the others in the store, it was clear that there was no competition. So after persuading my wife, I was able to take my dream system home. I replaced the wire with 16 gauge as others have recommended and took my time spacing each speaker carefully. I thought it sounded good in the store, but when I first turned on the system I was blown away. I proceeded to watch a scary movie and let me tell you the bass was great, but what really impressed me was the highs. I could hear every little thing like the birds and crickets in the background. This has brought a new dimension to movie watching. Thank you Onkyo.

After reading the reviews I searched and searched Canadian stores for this system and almost gave up. But then Visions in Vancouver had one system in stock and I bought it.Well worth the trouble! The system is excellent. The sound is great and makes good use of the speakers, and appears to be as good or better than higher priced systems. The universal remote was easy to configure for my whole TV, DVD, VCR, Cablebox system. The one downside, is that it took a bit to figure out most of the features. Basic cabling is straight forward, but getting my head around which buttons to push to make certain features work was more complex. I am happy with the system, but there are many more features I have yet to learn how to use.

I purchased the refurbished HT-S780 and apart from a sticker on the back, could not tell it was anything other than a brand-new unit. Setup was straight-forward and I was impressed by the build quality of the receiver and the accompanying speakers. I also loved the number of component inputs available, as I am using a hi-def projector, and the quality of the picture when routed through the receiver is great. To test the system, I put in The Fellowship of the Ring and was blown away (almost literally) by the scene were Sauron has the Ring cut off of his finger. The rumble shook the table in my living room and I didn't even have the volume up that high. The receiver is also great for playing music, as long as the correct sound field (tons to choose from) is selected. Definitely would purchase again and recommend to others.

Exceptional value. Need we say more? We have been searching high and low looking for an opportunity like this. We were this close to purchasing a 6.1 Sony Dream system at Best Buy/ Circuit City. We were patiently waiting for the system to go on sale. While skimming the black Friday ads, we notice this Onkyo System on sale at Circuit City. We thought 7.1 system at that price; let’s see what this is all about. After numerous calls to Circuit City, we were quite disappointed that they only had a very limited supply, one to be exact. Best Buy had the Sony 6.1 system on sale, so we called them up to put one on hold. We didn't have a good feeling about the 6.1 so we decided to visit this website to obtain more information. Once we saw the price and what was included, our decision was a snap. The product arrived exactly as expected. We live in Hawaii so shipping is always a concern. Thank you Onkyo for making the price on shipping so affordable! The box itself is very big and weighs over a hundred pounds! Set up was quick and easy. We do recommend adjustable stands for the surround speakers. We know Onkyo has a very high reputation for quality of products. This home theater system is no exception. In fact, there is no comparison to this product yet! We have listened to all manufactures system under a $1000. This system by far is THE BEST! We thought we had to compromise music quality versus special effects dynamics, but this is not the case. The Dolby music surround program does a marvelous job in balancing harmonics and phase control. Clipping is non-existent as the system handles the canons very well in the 1812 overture. In True Lies, the missile fired at the harrier seems to be jumping out of the screen. Excellent processing speeds! Look no further if you are going to invest in a home theater system. This system definitely raises the bar. Denon, Yamaha, Sony, Bose, and even Harmon Kardon have their work cut out for them if they even want to be considered as good as Onkyo.

I have been considering the option of a Bose 5.1 system or an Onkyo for over a year I decided on Onkyo for serveral reasons. 1. Bose is way over priced 2. Onkyo is known for a quality product 3. Bose had limited options for input. 4. Onkyo had multiple inputs that could be configured to my tastes.I have a X-box Cable Box and a Mac Mini connected to the system an via digital input and the results are better than I expected the sound is great and maybe more than I need but when can you really have to much. The HT-S780 also has another leg or 2 up on the Bose system 7.1 sound and an interface option for the Ipod. This system gives me everything I needed and wanted and much more.

Great Home Theatre For The Money
Reviewer: Ken

Read lots of good reviews for this system before I bought it. And everyone was right! This is probably the only system of its kind in this price range to offer lots of features and great sound. Even with a growing proliferation of HD products, it's still difficult to find receivers in this price range that offer component video switching cabability. And this receiver has 3 inputs, plus plenty of digital audio inputs as well. You won't find an AV receiver with these features for this price. My only observation would be, that while the handy color-coded speaker wire may simplify installation, it's way too thin (gauge). I used much better wire, so I can't actually say how much effect the thinner wire would have on the actual sound quality. But overall, and to sum up, great system for the money.

I just purchased the HT-S780 from shoponkyo.com. This is the 2nd system I got from Onkyo. I had purchased the HT-S500 a few years back and simply loved the product. My brother-in-law also liked the system and purchased the HT-R500 receiver. We both agreed that it was a good bang for the buck. But the HT-S780 is an even bigger bang for the buck. I’ve checked several Home Theatre Systems in the same price range and nothing came close to the Onkyo. Many of them come with small bookshelf speakers which hardly reproduce quality sound. The Onkyo is simply superb. Do not get fooled with the bulky looking speakers. Once you hear the pure sound reproduction you will be blown away. I have my entire home theatre built with Onkyo components and I’m extremely pleased with the product. Setup is easy and the sales/support staff is also very friendly and cooperative. It has been a god overall experience for me. I highly recommend this product without reservations.

We all went to the different sites, read several reviews, trying to figure out Bose, Sony, Yamaha or Panasonic. This is my third home theater within 13 or so years. I have finally found my system. This thing rocks, it is unbelievably clear. No humming in the back ground between quite scenes. The bass is outstanding, ( I keep it in the middle no need to crank it all the way) . The whole system in the box weighs about 100 lbs, the woofer is the main reason for this. I got to listen to depeche Mode's new album in 5.1 Dolby Digital. I never heard music like this before. You will definitely not regret it. Trust me for the price you will not. So go ahead and buy it.

The 3-2-1 system started at 784.00 at Sams Club for the 1st round of 3-2-1 and to upgrade to the best 3-2-1 was 1699.00 and they only have two speakers and a subwoofer.

I am not an Audio expert but I am sure that it will easily blow out some of the $1000 or more systems available in the market. With dual 5" cone and 1" tweeter in front speakers and dual 4" Cone and 1" tweeter the sound is crisp and clear. Very good surround from all other speakers. Receiver has generous Audio/Vedio connections. 230 Watt power of the sub and power of the whole system in general is excellent. With 50% of the max volume it shakes my living room when Harry Potter travels using Floo powder to Diagon Alley in Chamber of Secrets. I could hear all little sqeaks of gollum in Lord of the Rings which i could not hear earlier. I could not be more happier. Highy recommend. Thanks ONKYO !! Fine product !!

I bought the HT-780 as a first step into the Surround Sound world. And I tell you, IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT. I was going to try and piece a system together but found that neither myself or any of the sales reps (circuit city, best buy, good guys...etc) knew what we were talking about. After a bit of research online I found out the things that I wanted from a system and the HT-780 has it all. Great sound, easy to buy and easy to put together. The only downside to this system is that the speakers are a bit too big. But since I wanted the 2-way surround speakers there is really no way to get around this cheaply.
