Great with my Polk R30s

Reviewer: P. Nguyen  from Atlanta, GA   11/17/05
I have this system, black, with the two other front channels being the Polk R30s. This system is great. I use it for Karaoke and theater playback in my parent's living room. They're impressed by it a lot. Their friends really like it. I changed over from the previous HTS-520 Model and what an improvement. Sound quality is definitely better, no hiss, click, pop or whatever. I strongly suggest it :) With the R30s, they give off very powerful and clear sound. You can hear all the background noises from the enviroment of the movie.

Great system

I bought the refurbised version of HT-S677 in silver. It's a very powrful system. I set it up in my bedroom which is about 20X20 ft. The sound is in incredible. I tried the Lord of Rings DVD and the system rocked the room when the army marched in the movie. The front speakers have two mid-range cones in addition to the tweeter, so they have excellent definition. The front speakers are relatively large. I had them on a pair of stands. They are not wall-mountable.

I just got my Onkyo home theater system set up and ready to go. I have to say that, I have had a lot of diiferent home theater systems from other companies and this is with out a doubt, in my mind the best sounding one i had. I am pleased with my purchase.

Great Product for the Money

I have just installed the HT-670, replacing an old Awia system. You cannot beat the sound and the features for the amount paid. I did a lot of research before buying and everywhere I looked, Onkyo was rated high in all the surveys.

Things to improve: smaller sub-woofer and a larger remote (old eyes).

Happy to buy HT670

I am a novice to Audio/Video systems. Recently I bought a Dell DLP Projector and wanted to buy a low end Audio system for my basement. I do not want to invest too much money initially. I did some research on the Internet, decided to buy Sony HT system and went to one of the largest electronic shop ‘Nebraska Furniture Mart’ in Omaha. My friend who was with me convinced me to buy Onkyo system instead of Sony, which was on display at the shop.

It’s about 25 days now and I am very happy that I bought Onkyo HT670 for $350/-. The sound was incredible. We watched Star Wars with theater sound effects. Now we are enjoying our music CDs also – of course in the basement.

My main complaint is about the speakers and the sub-woofer, which are big and heavy. The lengths of the speaker wires in the box were small. I recommend Onkyo to add few more feet of extra wire in the box

THE Best Value.......HANDS DOWN!

I've only had this system for a month, so I don't know the reliability of it yet but as far as the quality, I am completely impressed. I was wanting to upgrade from my old 4-speaker, disabled, 1993 Sony system for well over a year. I first saw the HTS670 silver system Christmas season 2003 at Fry's Electronics here in AZ on sale for $100 off the regular $400 price tag. Of course, Christmas time is no time to be selfish, so I had to wait. Well, almost a year later and I've kept my eye on the price of this system and.... sure enough - $100 off again in 9/04. What a bargain. I have personally checked - out quite a few home theater systems ranging from $200 to $700 at several different stores throughout the year and none compare to the overall sound, power, connectivity and features of this unit. What a joy to watch movies in Dolby Digital 5.1! So pleased!

A big bang for the money

I have owned Onkyo 670 for over 4 months now. This is the biggest bang for the money that you can get.

This system is enough to cover over 400 sq ft of living room. Bass covers low and medium frequencies perfectly and is quite powerful.

Only two changes I wish
i) Having little more of treble/horn
ii) Reducing size of the sub-woofer
