Great sound with Good price

Reviewer: Raymond C.  from Madison Heights, MI   11/23/06
Great sound that you can feel the clarity. No common name systems (Sony, Yamaha, etc.) can compare. The performance per pice ratio is increditable. Definitely will go for another Onkyo product. Bought it for my brother family in 2005. Now I am going to buy the even better system HT-S790.

My action is the best compliment.

Great budget System

Reviewer: James Stevenson  from Orem UT   03/23/06
For the price, the best budget system out there. Solid sub & solid reciever. Speakers aren't the best, but work well enough (alhtough I upgraded them later). Far better than the $300 "slim" home theaters that retail stores sell -- I like having connection & configuration options.

Great Small System

Reviewer: Nate Abar  from Jordan NY   11/23/05
I purchased this system just b4 Christmas last year. I wanted small 2 way speakers to fit on the book shelves in my livingroom. Only Onkyo had speakers that fit the bill. This system can really rock a small room and is fantastic for watching DVD's. The sub has plenty of punch, too! I tried out many small systems and just didn't find anthing that can match this Onkyo's sound and features for anywhere near the price. I'll buy Onkyo again when I upgrade.

Great product!

Reviewer: Grad Gator  from Gainesville, FL   10/15/05
I bought a refurbished unit, coming with all the cables, remote control and manual. Shipping was so fast. At first time, there was something wrong with the receiver. However, the service center did a very good job. Now I can enjoy it with great pleasure. Recommend for people who want to spend less money for high quality systems.

Sound perfect for a small living room

the system is perfect for a ~ 14 X 17 living room

Affordable HT in a box

Reviewer: Patrick  from Montgomery County, MD   08/09/05
This unit rocks! Best value! I bought a refurbished unit , coming with cables and brand new remote and manual. Enjoying it very much! This unit weighs 66 lbs! Shipping was so fast: I ordered on Friday and it was at my door the following Monday's morning.

Awesome

Reviewer: Mitch  from land of Bourbon and Horses   07/13/05
Nothing in this price range even comes close to the sound quality. And it looks great. I have a townhouse and I can only turn the sub up about 30%!!! It will HIT when you want it too.

HT-S570 HTiB

Reviewer: Timothy  from Renton, WA   07/12/05
Easy set up, decent sound (while the subwoofer isn't amazingly big, it will rumble the floor), very inexpensive.

With a little adjustment it can produce a decent sounds stage.

Overall, I have no complaints.

I own both the refurbished ht-s670 and ht-s570. In fact, I bought the little sibling of the s670 since I was so impressed by the ht-s670 system. however, I noticed the immediate drop in performance between the two systems. the ht-s570 is clearly not as good as the 670, however, it's also a lot less expensive. given how much I paid, I'd say it's still a good purchase.

Finally - An Affordable Onkyo Experience

Reviewer: Nick H.  from Tulsa, OK   06/23/05
Best system available for the price. I got mine refurbished - HT-S570. Came with the HTP-320 receiver and SKS-HT320 speaker package for $140. This sounds amazing for the price--nothing else even comes close to Onkyo quality. Get on board with this company, they have been doing it better than anyone else for years!

Onkyo Still Doing It

Reviewer: Tom Holland  from Fredericksburg, MD   06/23/05
Been buying them for years. Not the top of the line system, but for $300, you can't beat it.

Nice for the Money.

Reviewer: Brian  from Michigan   06/22/05
Refurbished unit was like new condition. Sounds great, simple straight forward operation and can’t be beat at 149.95 price point with free, fast, well packed shipping. Would buy an Onkyo product again.

Nice System for the Price Range

Reviewer: Joseph Hoh  from Oklahoma   06/12/05
I bought the refurbed HT-S570 this summer for $149.95. One of the front speaker is defective. The service center replaced it free of charge. The woofer is much larger than other brands in the same price range, and works perfectly. The speakers (especially the rear speakers) look a bit "cheap" but worked suprisingly well except that they are a bit weak at high frequencies. The speaker cords are thin (22 gauge) but cheap 16 gauge speaker cords are everywhere in the market so I won't complain on this. The receiver does not have a full set of acoustic controls, but it allows you to adjust bass level and tremble level and offers several factory-coded DSP mode. Overall this is indeed a solid system for the price range. The feature set may look "standard" in the market for this price, but the sound quality is very very satisfactory.

Great Value for Money

AWESOME!

Reviewer: Jerry  from Bellingham, WA   06/05/05
Purchased the HT-S570 system in Jan. 05, waited till now to see how it performed. NO complaints, it is better than I expected. Easy to set up, the sound is better than I could ever imagine. I live in a condo, so it is necessay to keep the sound down to a dull roar. I can turn this system up for DVD's & CD's to hear crisp clear sound. I would recommend this system to anyone, even friends! In fact have just purchased another Onkyo product, a 6 disc CD-DVD changer (DVCP 702) to compliment this Surround System. Great experience through Onkyo Online.

No comparison in this category!! Seen many other home theatre systems but no one near this.

Great Buy

Reviewer: Angela  from Hammond, IN   05/18/05
This is my first home theater and I am very pleased. I wanted great sound at a great price and that's what I got. I like that it is very easy to use, since I'm not real hip on electronics. I would recommend this system.

Nice system, Nice price!

Reviewer: John Basham  from Nashvegas, TN   04/01/05
I had been looking for a low end system for a family room and had seen this Onkyo HTIB. Finally took the plunge and ordered one refurbished for $219. Delivered in 2-3 days by Fed Ex in brand new shape!

My sister was over and we connected it when it arrived. Just for fun, I didn't even check the connections and just fired it up. 15 minutes to 5.1 theater sound quality, pretty cool IMHO. Nice features and decent remote also. The sub does crank for this size system. I'm gonna use the sub - test feature to April Fool everyone that the house is falling down tonight. ;)

This is my 4th onkyo product. A Dolby Surround receiver, a 5.1 receiver and and CD changer, all still going strong. When I buy Onkyo products I feel confident I get excellent quality and features, at a X Mart price!!! This setup is a tiny bit lighter than their higher end products (big transformers), but I still feel it is a very good product.

My only gripe is the remotes seem a bit cluttered. Oh, and this system doesn't have S video or component switching, but for the price, well....

Thanks, Onkyo

Great value & Great system!

Reviewer: Kevin  from Colorado   03/29/05
I purchased this Theater in a box system direct from Shop Onkyo. It is a "refurbished" system but I can't tell it from brand new. No flaws at all. The sound is amazing. I am watching more DVDs than I ever have because I love the theater sound experience. The room really rocks with the sound effects which adds greatly to the whole movie watching experience. Thanks Onkyo!

Excellent piece with loaded features but cheap

Reviewer: Nirapada  from Sunnyvale, CA   03/16/05
For long time, I was looking for a good home-theater in-a-box in very economic price range. I checked many other name brands, but in this price range features and/or connectivity is not worth comparing. This is an excellent piece -- I am happy with the product.

Best bang for the buck

Reviewer: Rommel  from TN   02/23/05
Where do I begin? This is an awsome stereo. I loved it so much that I bought another one 2 weeks later to place in my den. It's a system you can definitely build on. The powered subwoofer throws out clean bass with both movies and music. Definitely a best bang for the buck stereo!

You cannot beat Onkyo

Reviewer: Don  from Aston,PA   02/08/05
Have an Onkyo Turntable (yes a Turntable) that is 20 years old and still works like a charm. Read many reviews, found that people would return Bose units and buy an Onkyo. Have had my HTS-570 for 6 weeks, great unit. It replaced a 20 year old Technics receiver and 2 old Advent speakers. You cannot beat Onkyo for it's value, the company stays with what it does best: audio/video.

Great Buy...

This is an awsome stereo system, as a long time Onkyo user I recently upgraded to this model and have been very pleased. I've done lots of research and bang for the buck this is by far the best hands down value you will find ANYWHERE.

Onkyo, the best ever.

I bought a sony HT-W660 home theater system a couple weeks ago.

Fedex broke the main unit, but it worked. I returned it to seller and

decided to switch to a Onkyo system. Due to my buget, I bought

HT-S570. Compared with sony HT-W660, this one is much better.

The receiver has 3 A/V input, 1 A/V output plus monitor output and 3 audio input, 1 audio output. So it is very easy for you to

build a home theater with very audio and video source hooking

to the receiver. The best thing for the receiver is that it has a 5.1+2 speakers/subwoofer output. With that additional +2 output,

I am able to hook my two bookshelf speakers in my kitchen to the receiver which is in the living room. So the system can fill both the living room and kitchen with surround dynamic sounds. That has never been offered by a sony or other brand receiver. Oh, one more thing, the subwoofer does definitely shake the floor.

In a word, the system is worth the money you will pay even if you don't get a deal.

Great Unit!!!

I paid only $219.00- but sounds like a million dollar!. Now I’m going to upgrade all my systems to Onkyo. Very good unit, I love it.

Worth Every Cent and Then Some

Reviewer: Bill C  from Boston, MA   02/01/05
Was looking for my second home theater system and only wanted to spend $300 tops. My main system is a Boston Acoustics and cost almost a grand without the receiver and doesn't sound much better than the HT570! I looked at the specs and this little guy had it all especially distortion at rated wattage, at .08%. This is very respectable, the human ear hears distortion around 3 whole percent! Onkyo is a long time respected name and products like this is why! Great value, Great Sound, Buy It!

Best system in its price range

Reviewer: AM  from Washington   01/21/05
I love this system, it is the best that I found in its price range. I am a college student that was looking for a more than decent, but less than top of the line system for my place and this has the best of both worlds. Enough power, high end, and bass for all of my needs including video and music.

i love it

I enjoy watching and listening to music and DVD's with this great system. The sounds that surround you are beautiful and loud. The Dolby Digital makes any movie worth watching over and over. If you love to listen to music, let your ears hear the loud and beautiful sounds the subwoofer makes with its 100watts. The HT-S570 is the best bang you can get for its low price.

Kick-Ass Sound, Excellent Price. GO BUY NOW!!!

Reviewer: Alex Conley  from Gainesville, FL   12/30/04
This is an amazing system at a very affordable price. The sound is amazing and perfectly accompanies our new hdtv. I only wish there was a few more optical ports so that i could have the dvd and xbox running 5.1 without having to switch. I highly suggest this system to anyone who is in the market for an excellent digital surround package at a great price.

All i have to say is that I got the deal of the century. Went to Circuit City & picked up this bad boy for about $255. Brought it home & had it set up in no time. The next thing I knew I had star destroyers buzzing right by me. Now how can you beat that? That's right you can't.

Excellent System for home use

Reviewer: Adnan A Siddiqui  from Richmond, Virginia   12/17/04
I bought the system last week. Oh my God. It is awesome. It is great for starters who don't want to spend too much and yet like to get the taste of high end Home Theatre Systems. Its 600 WATTS output is more than enough for my needs. At full volume I feel like I'm sitting in a big Movie theatre. Even at its full output capacity the sound is not annoying.

VERY RELIABLE, AND BUILT IN STRONG CASSINGS. Just yesterday I wanted to watch a movie, and I placed my right front speaker on a small table to the right of TV. In the dark I didn't see the wire and I tripped on it. The speaker fell from 4 feet on a hard vinyl floor. I got scared that I must have broken it bad. I picked it up, and looked for the damage, but I couldn't find anything. After looking very very closely I found that it had a very minor (small nail head size) dent in one corner. I tested, and it works fine. I'm very pleased with my system so far.

Digital Wonder

I got this system 1 month ago. All I can say is that for only 300 dollars, this system is amazing, it sounds like a 600 dollar system and the bass is room shaking.

GOOD SYSTEM

Reviewer: Gus S.  from Bell California   10/09/04
The sound of this system is good but my only complaint is that the highs are a little low, but for the price, this system is wonderful.

I could not believe the wonderful bass that came out of the little sub.... Sound is top of the line… and with the right source.. this system works great.

I was going to buy an rca for the same price, but onkyo has more reputation, and after hearing the sound the only thing that i can say is that you don't have to spend a lot to enjoy great sound.
