I purchased this receiver to run my surround sound in my theater room and I was shocked to see how well this receiver performs. It is a amazing receiver for the money. I have always been a sony man but this receiver has changed my mind. For the money, you can't beat this receiver.

Happiness in small amounts

I bought the TX-SR303 for a small amount so it could be used in the bedroom. I did not want to spend alot since it was only being used in the bedroom. The time since I got it till now I already changed it's use to go in to the family room. I was so happy with the results it has performed way above my expectation. The crisp sound that it puts out in the various manners that it performs is way beyond belief. The amount of hookups for other equipment is truly amazing.I could go on and on but you would think I was being paid for this. I would spell happy a new way and it's spelled ONKYO TX-SR303 P.S. If there is a bad side I have not found it yet, even the remote is easy to understand.

Good Value

Good clean sound with basic A/V features. Composite video switching only. Just one each optical and coaxial digital inputs; both assignable to CD, DVD or Video inputs. Remote only works with Onkyo devices; can't be set or trained to operate a DVD player or other device made by any another manufacturer. Best sound for a basic A/V system at a nice low price.

Great receiver for a great price

You could not buy a better unit for under $200 than this one. It has enough video and audio to hook up dvd, game consoles, iPod interface and the tv. It seems to have all the bells and whistles for those who need a great work horse. I run Bose speakers through mine and the sound is incredible. Only wish it had a couple s-video inputs and 1 output.

Shocking so far

I am a Audio/Video fanatic. I have owned several different brands as well as products over the years. Due to recent changes in my life(marriage), I am no longer able to use top of the line audio/video products. I purchased the Onkyo TX-SR303 for the features to price ratio, and I have been extremely pleased with the product even though my last receiver was the best Sony out there at the time. If you want near top of the line product for an entry level price, this reciever is for you.
