So close to audiophile quality

When you purchase an onkyo product you're making an investment. No matter how much or little you spend you're walking away a winner. I honestly don't know how onkyo can stay in business with the amazing prices they have. you definately get way more product than what you pay for. forget sont, forget denon, you need onkyo bottom line, this is hands down the best changer that i've ever had

This one beats the Sony model on features, functions, and capacity. Sounds great using digital optical instead of RCA plugs. Excellent addition to any home audio/theater system.

Great basic CD player

Purchased this from shopOnkyo at a great price as a basic replacement for a 5-disk Sony player that no longer recognized any disks. Great quality package as always from Onkyo, and great sound. Really like the ability to load disks while one is playing - the Sony couldn't do that!

Great price for the features it offers! No complaints! I got this CD player primarily because of the digital coax output (6-disc capability is nice too). I have enjoyed it since I bought it. The sound quality is great, and it has no problems reading discs that I have given it.

I have an old Onkyo receiver from the early 90s that is still going strong. I finally bought a cd player that is worthy of it. The sound is great and I can use one remote for both. I am very happy.

This is my first experience with Onkyo, I am blown away by the clarity and richness of the sound. I first set it up using analog cables and the output level was VERY low, I thought it might be my amp. I then hooked up using the digital coax, problem solved.Very pleased with this cd player.

Did a lot of shopping around before deciding to go with this CD player and a TX8011 receiver. So far I've only played store-bought CDs but look forward to playing some home-made MP3s. The sound is fantastic and using the TX8011 allows me to use one remote for the receiver and CD player.

Been looking for something to play my MP disc's, have tried many sony dvd players, always seemed like something was missing, so i thought it was the MP3 format, but after getting this Onkyo CD changer i was wrong, my MP3s sound really good, I cant tell them from the CD now, nice display and works well with my Onkyo reciever, I like how the dimmer works with both.CD's sound great to, fast disc change too.

Great! Perfect Match for the TX-8511
Reviewer: Morris Booker
from Murfreesboro, TN
11/24/05
And the beat goes on! Bought this to go with my new TX-8511 hoping to keep the true sound I was already enjoying. Not disappointed at all. Churns out even my most worn mp3's with grace and beauty! I can't get enough of this! True audiophile sound and solid quality make this a great investment. Crisp and clear sound delivery with plenty of options for how to mix your tracks from disk to disk or however. Ability to change disks without interrupting the disk being played is nice! Lighted tray allows you to keep the light mood when changing disks. A must when entertaining! Earlier reviewer having trouble playing disk, make sure your burned disks are all "finalized" properly. This player should handle most all of them well if recorded correctly. Of course, the unit integrates right in with other Onkyo modules for easy control on the RI remote. A great deal for sure!

Well Built and Solid Sound
Reviewer: John

Very high quality unit. Clean sound and the changer mechanism is virtually silent. Controls are easy to use. Best of all this unit can play MP3 CD's. I appreciate that it displays the MP3 name. Unit has analog, optical and coaxial outputs. My only complaints are that the changer could be a bit quicker and the unit itself seems a bit larger than it needs to be. Still this CD player is highly recommended. Sounds are good as the $800 Denon player I auditioned.

I bought a Sony 5 disc changer and returned it after realizing that the random play feature (Sony calls it shuffle) can only do one disc at a time. The Onkyo has a real nice sound. It's a little slow between songs in random mode but other than that I have no complaints.

More expensive than competitors, but worth it because it is better all around. Some of the competitors do not play mp3 files. Alos this unit(DX-C390) has a light above the CD tray which is very handy at nignt unless you have glow in the dark CDs.

Out with Denon in with Onkyo
Reviewer: EVA
from MA

Replaced defunct Denon - cartridge load - device with the DX-C390. What a difference in all areas. Sound clarity is far superior, little to no noise when changing disks, easy to set up, easy to use controlls, and changing a CD while playing another is a great feature. Using one remote to control both my new CD player and my Onkyo receiver is a great plus. After owning an Onkyo PHC-5, Virtual suround sound system for several trouble free years, I decided to go Onkyo all the way. Great products, great prices and great reliablity.

Best cd player available.
Reviewer: R.Y.
from Tampa, FL
08/03/04
The sound quality is phenomenal-other high end cd players like Denon and Harmon Kardon don't come close.Versatility of cd-r,rw, and mp3 is great. Sound quality of mp3's at 192kps is as good as original audio cd.Mp3 navigation is excellent and easy to read display of folder and filenames. The drawer mechanism and changer are smooth and solid, only drawback is it is noisy when switching cd's. Other than that it is built like a tank compared to other models. The programming memory and features are a weak point compared to other players, and the absence of a display button on the remote is annoying-you have to use the display on the player to scroll between time modes. However, the Next cue up function is nice, as well as the repeat options.Only player available that has both optical and digital outputs on the back as well. Also, the mammoth size of this player might take some adjusting of your entertainment center. For the audio enthusiast, none of the combination dvd changers, not even Onkyo's have the construcion or audio range that this one has. A pure listening pleasure.

The ONKYO DXC390 plays my CDs very clear. Best of all it plays my 'burned' CD's without skipping. My old player could not handle home made CD's(they skipped and actual got scrached while being played.) The price was a little higher than all the other units I priced, But I am very happy with it. I read the reviews on alot of other players and they had problems playing 'burned CD's'. I love this

Great CD turntable!

This new model DXC390 is great. I love the new features especially the remote button for power on/off and the tray light which can be dimmed and comes on brighter when the tray is opened. Also I connected it to my Onkyo receiver using a new coaxial cable, the RI connector and RCA connections. My old DXC370 was about 4 years old and was very reliable but got retired for the brand new 390 features. Love it!

Well Worth The Money
Reviewer: STR

First I bought an RCA 5 Disc Changer RP-8078 that could also play MP3 files, I was very unhappy with almost every aspect of it. It was a lot less than I expected, especially the sound quality so I returned it.I went to Circuit City and bought the Onkyo6 Disc Changer DXC390 and paid about $100 more. I got it home hooked it up and I couldn't believe how good it sounded, I didn't know CD's could sound that good and it even plays MP3 Files and displays the Title, Artist, Album, etc.

Love it. Easy to use and operate. The cd tray is silent with very little noise at all. The sound is crisp clear and clean. This is Onkyo's latest entry with a few new features such as 128X oversampling and mp3 playback making a worthy contender in the 150to 200 dollar range. It also has digital, optical and analog hookups along with r1 remote operation to hook up to other Onkyo products. All in all a great player at a great price.
