Great choice   Reviewer: Sabrina  from Texas   02/22/08 I am very happy with my new mini-system. The sound is excellent and so is the variety the system offers: cd, dvd, radio, and with additional accessorie, satellite radio, ipod dock, more speakers, etc. The set-up only took a few minutes and the manual is quite readable.

Besides being able to play anything well (CD, SACD, DVD), the amplifier section generates a clean, cool 23W into 4 ohms, enough to drive the included speakers to very high levels, the baby speakers are fantastically good, the microfibre woofer-midrange really works. Give the speakers 100 hours or more to break in, because they are light, you may want to weight them down. I listen only to classical music and I switched to these speakers from Epos 11's, for those who know, I cannot say more about the quality. Just listened to Water Lily Acoustics' SACD of Shostakovich 7 from St Petersburg. All I can say is "wow". But Boulez and Cleveland doing Debussy from 1992 on good old PCM sounds almost as good. Who would have thought Onkyo could produce such a great miniature.

Cute little upgradeable system   Reviewer: Steven  from Bolton, Connecticut   07/05/06 I myself own the HT-780S system but purchased this system for my sister as a graduation gift. She thought it was neat that she had a mini-system similar to her older brother's and loves the sound. What I found fantastically surprising is that this system, though it comes with 2 speakers, is 5.1 sound capable! No complaints from brother or sister, though I expect her to upgrade to 5.1 someday! It's a great little hidden package.

After 2 months of use of 2 systems (bedroom, livingroom), they are functioning perfectly. I wanted to update my earlier review to say that the loudspeakers simply get better and better with use. Apparently microfibre really works! So nice to have soft dome tweeters after years of titanium. Thank you Onkyo for producing such an excellent convenient system for enjoying CD, SACD, and DVD.

First month Owning this product   Reviewer: Mike  from NY   02/17/06 I bought this unit for the purpose of having a small, yet able to enjoy volume for my own personal use. First month of owning the cs-v720s stereo I am amazed. So many different formats can be played with ease from the single disc playing unit. Receives XM very well with the connect and play xm antenna. You can do so much with this "unit" for the price it is well worth the investment. If you need a compact stereo with huge pluses and options to add more listening components this is the ideal personal audio system.

CS-V720S   Reviewer: Ervin  from Brooklyn, NY   01/16/06 I researched several systems claiming to do what the CS-V720S can do. The CS-V720S wins hands down. I could not find a better sounding system that can read so many different formats and have so many options for upgrades and component attachments. On top of that, it looks great and it cost less than most of the "executive" systems I've seen. Did I say it also sounds great? You can't go wrong with this system!
