This system is an elegant executive system. The out put is amazing for such a small all in one amplifer/source. Great Job Onkyo

Bought this for my Husband, he has it in his office and just loves it, teamed it up with an iPod dock and he is set to go.

Great Office Sound System

I purchased this as a bookshelf system for my office for my long hours at work. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the tone and depth that the unit provides. I am very happy with the purchase.

Excellent Value

I'm a bit frugal, but don't mind paying for quality. With that in mind, my research led me to a couple listings on Shelf systems for under $200 (my target range) The CS-210 rated out at one of the top 5. After that, the CS-210 caught my eye on looks, so I bit. I'm not sorry. I have this system in a medium size computer room, and it has excellent sound. Rich sound, a very conservative look, and simplicity in its operation. My son, who is a bit of an audiophile, was impressed. I'll look at this brand again!

Small System - Big Value

I was expecting better than "boom box" quality and Onkyo delivered. This is a great value - my daughter has been using it to study classic music for class and loves the sound.

Highly recommended

High Quality System

I replaced my Sony boombox with this upgraded system. For me the cd player is quiet and the sound is superb with the acoustic preference setting of 4. I like the weekday and weekend timer features together with the sleep timer. It enables one to fall asleep and to wake up with the system automatically controlled. I plan to add the tape player. These speakers have even better specs (50Hz to 40,000 Hz) than those of the MC35TECH (60 Hz to 35,000 Hz), if I understand these specs correctly. I am enjoying this system.

Good System

I was trying to decide between this system and the MC35TECH (which retails for about twice as much). I was never able to find one of these in a store, so I had to go with customer reviews here and on other sites, and thus could not compare the sound sie by side.

This system is nice--it looks good, it is an ONKYO so you know the quality is good, and it sounds fine. We don't plan to turn the volume way, way up, so at the levels we listen to there is no distortion and it fills up the room fine.

I upgraded the speaker wire to 12 g. only because I had plenty leftover from my ONKYO surround system installation, but the supplied wire seems to be fine--I think it is 18 g.

I think the MC35TECH sounds better (from what I recall at the store) and it has separate components for the receiver and CD player (but many complaints about how noisy the CD changer is). If money is no object I would go with the MC35TECH.

But, for a simple personal system to bring good sound with ONKYO quality to a room this is a fine choice. I am happy with this system and expect many years of use from it.

Best Bang for your Buck

After an exhaustive search for a small stereo, with a small price, to play CDs and CDRs, I happily bought the Onkyo-210. I didn't want to spend much money because I'm a starving college student. For my dollar I didn't want some space disco hemorphiditac light show with average sound quality. I prefer the Onkyo's simplicity. For less than two c-notes, I don't think there is a better sound. I will not compare this to higher end units, but in the Onkyo-210's price range there are no comparisons that would be relevant. I'm very satisfied. The sound has a big feel to it that easily fills up my studio apartment. I haven't cranked it full throttle, yet. I found using the tuner a little vexing, and I would really like separate bass/treble controls. Fortunately, I found a tone setting that meets my needs. I had owned some Onkyo stuff many years ago-an A10 that my ex-wife's ex-husband got, but that's another story for another time and place. Anyway, this definitely has that Onkyo feel (for the size this is solidly heavy) and sound. My headphones(Sennheiser PC150 ) that sounded great on my laptop just can't handle the 210. I've had my eyes on some Sennheiser HD590s for awhile. Man, there's always something more to want. Oh well, civilization, huh?

Great System

I bought the CS-210 as a replacement for an aging Sony bookshelf system, and to hold me over until I move into my next home, which will have a surround system (by Onkyo, of course). To the point, I love the little system! Here's why:

- looks great; the display, the silver face, the speaker cabinets; just a great presentation; not flashy, but conservatively competent-looking

- sound: this system is in by 15x22 living room. It's definitely loud enough for that space. When I upgrade to a surround system, I plan on putting this one in my office or bedroom, where it will easily be up to the task. I use the Tape input for my Mitsu TV, and the sound is great. It's not a surround system, but it handles the job well. CDs sound great, as well as my iPod using the iTrip FM unit.

- price: I bought this from a "membership" retail outfit for $164. Quite a bargain in my opinion, even at the nearly $200 price on onkyousa.com

Overall, it's really a great sounding and beautiful system. Perfect for office or bedroom. If you're looking for a system for your teenager, check this out. This is my first experience w/an Onkyo product. Onkyo has a rep for well-made hi performance gear, and the CS-210 lives up to that. Onkyo has me sold. Like I said, my surround sytem will be an Onkyo!

Exceeded expectations

I was in the market for a system to replace my JVC component system at the office. The 210 excelled in many ways. AM and FM reception is outstanding. I work in a large office building, and the reciever of my JVC was virtually useless. With the 210, using only the supplied antennas, I am able to pull in strong, clear signal in both am and fm. I purchased the system online, and did not have a chance to see the 210 prior to opening the box. It looks as all Onkyo equipment does; well designed and executed. The blue display is the best looking you will find. The provided speakers are excellent, and a perfect match for the receiver/cd player. I would recommend this unit to friends and family, and plan to purchase another for my home office.
