Purchased two pair of AS-240 speaker stands for my Onkyo Home Theater System and am very satisfied with them. The stands have great styling and balance. Additionally; assembly was extremely simple and took less than 10 minutes. The AS-240's are far superior to all others stands in both quality and appearance. Another happy Onkyo customer.

A Woman's Perspective

I purchased two pair of Onkyo AS-240 speaker stands because I found the design to be simple, sleek and very pleasing to the eye. Upon opening the carton it became apparent that some assembly would be required and I was a bit concerned. Looking at the instructions and using my husbands power screw driver, the assembly was quite simple and only took about 5 minutes. The wire management run through the vertical post is also an added plus. I am very happy with the product and these four stands fit into the corners of my TV room quite nicely. They also look fantastic and are a step above the other stands currently on the market.

Great compliment to already impressive speakers

I bought a pair of these stands to compliment the speaker system I had purchased (HT-SKS240). I was surprised at how heavy and solid they were. Not only were they stylish and matched the speakers perfectly, they also matched the color of my HDTV! I like them so much, I plan on purchasing another set.

A Sturdy Stand for a Sensational Speaker

After purchasing an SKS-HT240 speaker system from Onkyo.com, I thought I could go to my local retailer to save money on speaker stands. I was wrong. While the bargain-priced speaker stands may hold tiny cube speakers, they are too flimsy and unbalanced for the Onkyo 240 surround speakers. These speaker stands are a wise investment for your home theater system. They are the perfect complement to the surround speakers. Intelligent design: the heavy base secures the speaker stand firmly. There are 2 positions to raise the speakers 43" to 49.5" total height using a removable sliding adjuster section. The higher position makes them at ear level when seated in my favorite recliner. Assembly was easy: 1) Attach a bracket to the back of the surround speaker using 1 provided screw. 2) Attach the stand to the base using 3 provided screws. 3) Guide the speaker wire through the hole in the base and up through the center shaft of the stand to attach to the back of the speaker. 4) Slide the speaker with the bracket onto the stand and attach a cap on top. The hole in the base is a bit tight for 12-14 gauge speaker wire. If using banana plugs, it is best to attach them after getting the speaker wire up through the stand. The stands come as a pair, which may require that you buy 2 pairs for 6.1 or 7.1 surround systems. I use the HT 240 speakers as a 5.1 system, so I didn't need a second pair for the back surround speaker. Each assembled speaker stand weighs about 12 lbs. without the speaker. I was a little disappointed that I could not order the speaker stands directly from Onkyo.com, but I got free shipping from CircuitCity.com.
